A safety recall is being issued for all Joytech brand Wii Power Station units that utilise rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries, together with their two accompanying battery packs, all of which are labelled “Lithium”. The lithium version of the Wii Power Station, which was manufactured by Millenium Dragon Electronics, an independent third-party contractor in China, has a potential to overheat, presenting a possible burn or fire hazard to customers. This recall does not include Joytech brand Wii Power Stations and battery packs that are equipped with nickel-metal hydride (“NiMH”) batteries, which do not bear the “Lithium” mark.
If you have one of these please STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY and follow the instructions in the link at the top of this post. If you know anyone who has one, please print this out and give it to them.
It seems the newly released Wii title "Rugby League 3" may contain a new form of protection that stops the game from running on a chipped console. Yes, an original purchased game disc will apparently not function when run on a modded console.
A warning on the back of the game's packaging states "unauthorized technical modifications to your wii may render this game unplayable."
Users have been reporting the issue on the game's official forum. According to their reports, newer chips like DriveKey and WODE work fine.
The official statement from the administrator of the game's forum is "if you are having problems getting the game working with your modchip, you should try deleting any softmods, hacks, or other non standard software that you have on your Wii. "
UPDATE: The game is apparently looking for the Trucha Bug in an IOS file so some softmods are affected. Hackers are still trying to narrow down which file(s) it is checking for.
ModchipCentral has posted some pics of a new Wii drive version. We'll have more information soon. In the meantime, check out the thread HERE for more pics and discussion.
I finished this version on December last year but I forgot to upload it. Well, not really. I didn't forgot I was just too lazy to do it. These are the new features added:
- New set of graphics for Wii and PC (I think the DS graphics were ok for the ds, but looked lame on my PC)
- Savegames (so now when you complete a level Rokoban will keep a record of it)
- Music and sound (finally, woo hoo!)
- Some memory leaks fixed
